Cooperative education, or Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), is an approach to education that integrates class based learning into an authentic, work-based context. It is a full professional Master\u2019s program run at AIMS centres in Senegal, Cameroon, Ghana and Rwanda that provides students with a combination of academic training at AIMS and \u2018hands-on\u2019 work experience in a professional work environment enabling them to develop valuable work skills and effectively move from the educational setting to dynamic and advancing career paths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why apply for the CO-OP Program at AIMS?<\/h2>\n\n

\u2022 Specifically suited for those interested in working in industry immediately after graduation.
\u2022 Consists of a 1-year course at AIMS (theoretical, practical and scientific computing) in a specific applied domain depending on the AIMS centre\u2014such as Climate Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Security and Mathematical Epidemiology.
\u2022 Entails, in addition to the 1-year course, at least 4 months industry internship combined with research aimed at problem-solving for the host industry.
\u2022 Includes for any student, a dual supervision for their internship-research phase by an expert from academia and an expert from the host industry.
\u2022 Interactions with top lecturers from across the world, supported by a team of resident tutors.
\u2022 Students and lecturers live on campus to encourage a 24- hour learning environment.
\u2022 Encourages group work and a highly interactive learning setting.
\u2022 24\/7 access to computer labs & high-speed internet.
\u2022 A diverse student body from across Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les candidats doivent d\u00e9tenir ou s'attendre \u00e0 obtenir, \u00e0 la date de d\u00e9but de la formation AIMS, un dipl\u00f4me universitaire de 4 ans en math\u00e9matiques ou dans toute autre discipline des sciences \/ du g\u00e9nie comportant une composante math\u00e9matique importante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidate records must demonstrate strong mathematics, leadership, entrepreneurship and community service skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Full<\/strong> ou alors partial<\/strong> scholarships may<\/strong> be awarded to some accepted students.
\u2022 The Cooperative Education Master\u2019s Program currently offers full scholarships to exceptional students who gain admission into the program at all AIMS Centres, except for AIMS Senegal. AIMS Senegal operates a fee-paying program with limited partial or full scholarships available to outstanding students. Other centres will gradually implement the fee-paying program network policy for Cooperative Education.
