If you hold  a Doctorate in Mathematics and its Applications with a 7+years experience in managing academic professionals in an international setting with particular expertise in African academia, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Position Title: <\/strong>AIMS Global Network Academic Development Manager<br><strong>Location: <\/strong>Limbe (Cameroon), with frequent short travels in Cameroon and in the host countries of other AIMS Centres<br><strong>Type:<\/strong> Full Time, Contract \u2013 2 years<br><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> February 28, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Aper\u00e7u<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To support, in general, the academic development activities of the AIMS Global Network and to specifically provide support to the management on some academic aspects of the AIMS centre in Cameroon\u2014including the Teacher Training Program, under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer and President of the AIMS Centre in Cameroon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Responsabilit\u00e9s<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Academic and Administrative support to the AIMS Global Network<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Provide support to the Chief Academic Officer of the AIMS Global Network in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>coordinating the academic activities at the AIMS Global Network;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>updating and enforcing the Academic Quality Assurance Policy of the AIMS Global Network;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>evaluating the existing and new training programs with the support of the Internal Academic Auditor of the AIMS Global Network;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>delivering some courses\u2014falling in his or her domain of specialisation\u2014 at the AIMS Global Network;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supporting the eLearning content production and diffusion for the AIMS-Global Network;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Academic and Administrative support to the AIMS Centre in Cameroon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Provide support to the Centre President and the Academic Director of AIMS-Cameroon in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>designing new training programs in the Centre;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing grant proposals and research projects;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>enforcing academic quality assurance at the Centre;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>contributing to and supporting the Teachers Training Program at AIMS-Cameroon;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>conducting higher-level research in mathematics and its applications, supervising Master and PhD theses of students affiliated with AIMS-Cameroon, in addition to delivering some courses\u2014falling in his or her domain of specialisation\u2014 at AIMS-Cameroon;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>initiating and organising scientific and outreach events in mathematical sciences;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Comp\u00e9tences et autres exigences<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A Doctorate in Mathematics and its Applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7+years experience in managing academic professionals in an international setting, with particular expertise in African academia;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An active research profile in mathematics and its applications with a wide knowledge of mathematics and its\u2019 potential on the development;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A good mastery of pedagogy and the use of ICT for mathematics education including online education;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Superb relationship management skills to lead, manage and mentor a diverse team of academic professionals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A genuine passion to heighten the development of mathematical sciences in Africa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fluency in English is essential, and working knowledge of French is desirable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willing and able to travel within and outside of Africa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Internet applications (Dropbox, Skype, Gmail, etc.), Latex, Python, and Computer Algebra Software.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Les conditions de travail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>May require occasional weekend and\/or evening work;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Position to be based in Limbe, with frequent short travels in Cameroon and in the host countries of other AIMS Centres;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Should be prepared and ready to take on the function of Interim Academic Director\/Manager at any AIMS centre for a couple of months, in case of a vacancy on short notice. <strong><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>May be required to work outside normal working hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Are you ready to be a part of the transformation of mathematical science education in Cameroon and in Africa?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit your letter of motivation, including salary expectations, together with a detailed CV to<strong>: <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:careers@aims-cameroon.org\"><strong>careers@aims-cameroon.org<\/strong><\/a><strong> &nbsp;(Please quote \u201cNetwork Academic Development Manager\u201d in the subject line and within the motivation letter.
