By 2050, Africa will be home to about 40% of the world&#8217;s youth (below 18). Thus, there can be no more effective investment in Africa&#8217;s future than in education, empowering talented young people to contribute to their country&#8217;s development and be better equipped to fight the multidimensional cause of poverty. This justifies AIMS&#8217; Mission to enable Africa&#8217;s brightest students to flourish as independent thinkers, problem-solvers\u00a0 and innovators capable of propelling Africa&#8217;s future scientific, educational and economic self-sufficiency. The Centre President and Chief Academic Officer of AIMS Global Network, Prof. Dr. Mama Foupouagnigni, told the&nbsp;students that the Model includes selecting highly motivated students from Africa, maintaining a 24\/7 enabling learning environment, ensuring a good tutorship through various stages of the 10-month Structured Master&#8217;s degree course and using the services of world-class lecturers including Nobel laureates and Field Medallists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While reminding the new students that AIMS is enabling Africa&#8217;s youth to shape the continent&#8217;s future through STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education and training Africa&#8217;s next generation of leaders, Prof. Mama showcased statistics which revealed AIMS continental footprints and used alumni several success stories from AIMS Cameroon to enable the students understand the AIMS ecosystem of transformation which make the institution different from other universities. &#8220;We easily adapted to COVID-19 pandemic than other institutions,&#8221; he said, urging the students to uphold AIMS values of Excellence, Respect, Pan-Africanism and Integrity throughout their training. &#8220;If any among you lacks one of these values, you will not get our certificates,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During other presentations by AIMS staff, the new students were guided on procedures to benefit from amenities such as healthcare, monthly stipends and logistics and were introduced to AIMS code of conduct, respect for gender as well as interesting sites in Limbe.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa&#8217;s most incredible resource is its people.
