Prior to this, he was the Acting Director of Research and the Senior Scientist in climate modeling and climate change at the WASCAL Competence Center, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Within the same institution and simultaneously with this, he was also appointed as head of climate change and climate variability research cluster and acting coordinator of observation networks at different periods of time. Dr. Sylla completed a postdoc at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy and a research scholar and part-time lecturer at Loyola Marymount University | Los Angeles, California, USA. His research interests focus on regional climate modeling, climate change, climate change impacts, extremes, hazards, risks and dynamics. With more than 10 years of post-PhD experience, he has authored\/co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in international climate journals, has taught diverse climate related courses in different universities in Africa and contributed to numerous trainings, workshops and conferences around the World. Dr. Sylla is a lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment Report 6 (AR6) for the Working Group 1 contribution: The Physical Science Basis.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Mouhamadou Bamba Sylla is the AIMS-Canada Research Chair in Climate Change Science at AIMS Rwanda.
