He was the Research Director of CAST &#8212; Center for Applied Statistics and Data Analytics at Tampere University, Finland, from April 2015 to December 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof Canas research interests include dimensionality reduction and visualization, time series and singular spectrum analysis, robust statistics, and big data analytics, among others. He has authored\/coauthored more than 75 research papers with more than 100 colleagues from 21 different countries.
