Gifty Tracy has developed a keen interest in mathematics and its applications in modeling and computing. It all started when she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a concentration in applied mathematics at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She then pursued a structured Master’s degree at the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), where she honed her programming skills in Python. These skills proved to be invaluable during her thesis work on malaria modeling.
Currently, Tracy is a graduate student at Bowling Green State University, studying Applied Mathematics with a focus on Scientific Computing. Although she knows her future career lies in applied mathematics, she finds it challenging to narrow down her options to a specific area. She acknowledges that with the rapid evolution of technology, she might even venture into becoming a cloud analyst, a field that has recently piqued her interest. Tracy is set to graduate from Bowling Green State University in 2025.
However, it’s not all work for Tracy as a graduate student. She also finds time for fun and relaxation. When she’s not engrossed in academic pursuits, you can find her practicing her musical talents. Tracy enjoys playing various instruments, such as the keyboard, ukulele, and trumpet.
