Junior Parfait began his higher education at the University of Dschang, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Mathematics with a major in Analysis.
He then had the privilege of being selected at AIMS Cameroon as a student in Fundamental Mathematics’ stream where he acquired programming skills and deepened his knowledge in various areas of pure and applied maths. His AIMS essay focused on “Least Squares Monte Carlo Methods for Solving Stochastic Optimal Control Problems”.
He also had the privilege of being the student delegate for his class and leading the Mathematical Olympiad Give-back team, which gave him valuable leadership experience.
“Being at AIMS with brothers and sisters from different countries in Africa and learning from teachers from all over the world has been one of the best experiences I have had so far”, he says.
Currently, Junior Parfait is a YAM (Young African Mathematician) fellow at the Cluster of Excellence Mathematics Münster, University of Münster, Germany where he is working on “Portfolio Optimisation and Pricing of Derivatives in Financial Market with different currencies”.
