The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) – Cameroon seeks to hire a Bilingual Communications Manager

AIMS Cameroon is seeking a Bilingual (French And English) Communications Manager who will be responsible for event planning, media engagement, content drafting and day-to-day operations. The Bilingual Communications Manager will be based in the AIMS-Cameroon’s Centre, Limbe, Cameroon, and will assist in managing all communication activities of AIMS-Cameroon, including public relations and community engagement. Responsibilities include developing and implementing diverse communication plans utilizing traditional and non-traditional tactics designed to educate, engage, and inform stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with:

• A minimum of a Master’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations and/or closely related disciplines
• Experience in Community Outreach with knowledge of the local Cameroonian context
• Bilingue (français et anglais) avec de solides compétences rédactionnelles dans les deux langues
• Connaissance de la production médiatique, de la communication, des médias sociaux (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.) et des techniques et méthodes de diffusion, y compris les moyens alternatifs d'informer et de communiquer via les médias écrits, oraux et visuels.
• Contacts et expérience avec les médias locaux et régionaux requis
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and telephone protocol. Computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications.
• Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Capacité à créer et à gérer des partenariats avec des parties prenantes des secteurs privé et public
• Capacité à travailler sous des contraintes de temps avec discrétion et jugement mûr
• Travaillez bien avec les autres.
