Dr. Pascal IGRI MOUDI is a climate scientist and expert in early warning systems, with over a decade of experience in operational meteorology, climate services, and disaster risk management in Central Africa. He holds a PhD in Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences and currently serves as an expert in Early Warning Systems and Anticipatory Action at the Central African Climate Application and Prediction Centre (CAPC-AC), a specialized institution of ECCAS.
Dr. Moudi plays a key role in the operationalization of the ECCAS Multi-Hazard Situation Room, where he contributes to regional coordination, forecast harmonization, and the development of impact-based early warning systems aligned with global frameworks
such as UNDRR, WMO and the African Union (AMHEWAS).
His expertise comprises numerical weather prediction (WRF), climate modeling, multi-hazard risk analysis, and the integration of geospatial and Earth observation data into decision-support systems. He has led and contributed to several regional and international initiatives on drought monitoring, flood risk assessment, and anticipatory action mechanisms, in collaboration with partners such as UNDRR, WMO, ECMWF, and the African Development Bank.
In addition to his scientific and operational work, Dr. Moudi is actively engaged in strategic leadership and institutional development. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA in Strategic Management, with a focus on governance, regional integration, and the performance of climate service institutions in Africa.
He is committed to advancing science-based decision-making, strengthening regional cooperation, and supporting the training of the next generation of African scientists through applied, impact-oriented research.
