Professeur Ziad Taib

Ziad Taib’s research focusses on stochastic models in biology and medicine. His work includes the study of branching processes, population dynamics, and epidemic modeling and more recently, on statistical and mathematical methods that are relevant to drug development.

In addition to serving as a professor of Biostatistics at the Department of Mathematics at Chalmers University of Technology, he was a visiting professor at UC Santa Barbara and the University of Melbourne. He has also maintained regular collaborations with mathematicians in Morocco.

He worked part-time at Astrazeneca for many years, where he was involved in both line management and drug development project work. Today, he continues to offer consultations to
biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies through his own company, Atlasbiostat.

He is a chartered statistician recognized by the Royal Statistical Society. He has also served as president of the International Biometric Society’s Nordic Baltic Region (IBC-NBR) and the Swedish Society of Medical Statistics (FMS).
