Julia Mortera is an Honorary Professor at the University of Bristol and a retired professor of Statistics at the University Roma Tre, Italy.
Her research interests are in probabilistic expert systems for forensic identification using genetic markers, models for inference from DNA mixtures, models for kinship analysis, analysis of evidence, object-oriented Bayesian networks and their applications, opinion pooling and prediction markets and Bayesian networks for decision theory and game
theory.
She is a member of ASA Advisory Committee for Forensic Science the Advisory Board for the Forensic Science Center of Excellence CSAFE.
She is editor of “Law, Probability and Risk”, Oxford University Press and past Associate editor for “Bayesian Analysis”.
