Dr. Jean-Rassaire Fouefack

Cameroun

Taught Masters, 2014/2015

While at AIMS, Jean-Rassaire studied how to identify for a given concentration of the pollution data by the receptor, the sources emission rates. To investigate the source of these pollutants, he conducted an investigation on the existence and uniqueness of the very weak solution of the state equations and the solution of the control problem, using Galerkin’s method and by using finite method for the variable spaces and the characteristics method for the time variable.

Jean-Rassaire is currentlty working as Chief AI Scientist at MAIA Medical Technologies, a company based in Grenoble, France. At our recent international conference on “Harnessing the Potential of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development” (Limbe, 23-28 November 2024), Jean-Rassaire delivered a compelling plenary talk on the clinical adoption of AI-driven medical imaging technologies.
Jean-Rassaire’s academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Dschang in Cameroon. He furthered his studies with a Master’s degree from the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (Cameroon), followed by a second Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
He went on to complete a joint Ph.D. between IMT Atlantique in Brest, France, and the University of Cape Town, specializing in machine learning and medical imaging. After earning his Ph.D., Jean-Rassaire pursued two years of postdoctoral research before transitioning to the industry. Currently, his work focuses on the application of AI in robotic surgery.

Jean-Rassaire’s primary research interests include artificial intelligence, medical imaging analysis, and robotic surgery.
