Peace Ayeni is an AIMS-Cameroon Structured Master’s alumna of the 2021/2022 batch. She just began her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Basel in Switzerland and is conducting her research with the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (SwissTPH), an affiliate research institute of the University of Basel.

Peace has always had her interest in the application of statistics, data science and machine learning to health data. Her career goal is to use methods of the afore mentioned technologies to tackle public health challenges in the continent of Africa starting with her country, Nigeria.

Ms. Ayeni was a beneficiary of the MasterCard Foundation scholarship for her studies at AIMS and is also now a recipient of the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship (ESKAS). Her goal is to gain topnotch knowledge and experience that can be instrumental to the improvement of the health care system in Africa. It is her optimal goal to influence the formulation of evidence-based health care policies that will elevate the quality of life and health in Nigeria.
