Prof. Takam is an associate professor at the department of mathematics of the University of Yaounde 1 (Cameroon). He is interested in estimating parameters in continuous-time (ODE, SDE, PDE, …) and discrete-time (ARMA, ARCH, …) equations, studying the asymptotic properties of these estimators and applying them to real data; and in statistical modeling of problems linked to agronomy (modeling of cocoa fruit attack processes) and ecology (tree species classification). On a day-to-day basis, he works with advanced probability and statistical tools, and do a lot of programming in R.
