Brenda is a woman with a passion for Mathematics, a desire to make new scientific discoveries, and a strong ability to learn quickly. After obtaining a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Dschang (Cameroon), Brenda then went to AIMS Cameroon, where she pursued the structured master’s program under the Data Science stream. She gained programming skills in several programming languages as well as techniques for solving real-life problems.
With expertise in theoretically solving real problems described by Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) and the training she received at AIMS, Brenda was inspired to solve numerically this type of problems using Machine Learning algorithms. Consequently, Brenda’s research focused on Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs), a machine learning algorithm that has shown great success in approximating solutions to Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). Her aim was to focus on the theoretical understanding of the training process of PINNs through the spectral analysis of its Neural Tangent Kernel (NTK).
After completing her studies at AIMS, Brenda participated in a five-week intensive Industry Immersion Program (IIP), where she obtained a certificate in Business Management from the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT-Berlin). She later continued her research and is currently pursuing a PhD in Physics-Informed Machine Learning with Application in Climate Science, at Quantum Leap Africa (QLA) in Rwanda.
