From October 17–19, 2025, Nairobi, Kenya became a vibrant hub of innovation and inspiration as 698 Mastercard Foundation Scholars, Alumni, partner institutions, and industry leaders came together for the Baobab Summit 2025 — the flagship annual convening of the Programme de bourses Mastercard Foundation.

Under the theme “Baobab Rising: Nurturing the Future Through Africa’s Youth,” the Summit celebrated the transformative power of Africa’s young minds in shaping a sustainable, inclusive future. Over three days, participants explored how science, technology, and innovation (STI) can drive change and unlock opportunities across the continent.

“The messages still echo vividly, as though they were spoken only moments ago,” reflected Ishmael, an alumnus from AIMS Cameroon. “The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program reminded us of its timeless creed — to #Listen with #Humility, to #CoCreate with purpose, and to make a lasting #Impact.”

From inspiring keynote addresses to collaborative sessions and shared stories, the Summit underscored one truth: Africa’s youth are not just the future — they are the driving force behind Africa’s transformation through STEM.
