The African School of Fundamental Physics and Applications (ASP) holds a biennial African Conference on Fundamental Physics and Applications. In 2018, the 5th biennial African Conference on Fundamental Physics and Applications was held in Namibia from the 24th of June to the 14th of July at the Namibia University of Science and Technology. With programmes like:
- Astrophysics and Cosmology
- Nuclear and particle physics
- Accelerator, Medical and Radiation Physics
- Material Physics
- Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency
- Physics Education
- Physics Communication
- High Performance Computing
- Poster Sessions
presented at the conference, the participants in attendance were nothing short of knowledge-filled. Present at this conference was one of AIMS Cameroon’s 2018 alumna, Marianne Njifon. Marianne Njifon, who graduated with a distinction, found herself again in the arms of success as she grabbed the conference prize of 1000 euros, for the best oral presentation on her research topic – “Quantum Walks with two particles: interaction and interference”.
AIMS Cameroon is proud of her and wishes her the best as she continues to keep the flag flying high as she pursues her Masters in Machine Intelligence at the prestigious African Masters in Machine Intelligence (AMMI), Rwanda.
More grease to your elbows Marianne, the world is your oyster.
