AIMS-Cameroon is seeking a motivated Facilities & Infrastructure Assistant to support the Centre’s infrastructure development, construction, facilities management, and operational activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer or related professional to gain broad, hands-on experience across construction supervision, facilities management, and project coordination, while directly contributing to the growth of AIMS-Cameroon’s campus and sports facilities.
What You’ll Do
- Support planning, design, and supervision of infrastructure and construction projects, including buildings, sports facilities (football stadium, courts, swimming pool), student accommodation, and perimeter works
- Prepare and review technical drawings, cost estimates, and bills of quantities
- Conduct site inspections, monitor contractors, and ensure quality and compliance with approved plans
- Support preventive maintenance, facility condition assessments, and repair coordination
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and suppliers for construction and maintenance activities
- Maintain technical documentation and report regularly to the Chief Operating Officer
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related field
- Practical experience in construction supervision, civil works, or facilities maintenance
- Proficiency in technical drawing and design software (e.g., AutoCAD)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently across both office and site environments
- Membership (or proof of eligibility) with the National Order of Civil Engineers
