International Women’s Day

On March 8 th , the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Global Network celebrated Women. This year’s theme for International Women’s Day, “Women’s Leadership: For an Equal Future in the World of COVID-19”, celebrated the tremendous efforts of women and girls around the world towards shaping an equal future and recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the gaps to be filled. AIMS’ commitment to scientific excellence goes hand in hand with its commitment to promoting gender equity and inclusion. At AIMS Cameroon’s Center, highlights of the ceremony included a keynote speech by the First Deputy Mayor of Limbe, lectures by three guest speakers, a play on girl child education by AIMS-Cameroon students, a panel discussion and a picture quote display on social media on the theme of the day’s campaign “Choose To Challenge”.
