Prof. Margaret May

Margaret is a Reader in Medical Statistics with a Ph.D. in prognostic modeling. She is a co-Principal Investigator with Jonathan Sterne for the Antiretroviral Therapy Cohort Collaboration which collects data from cohorts of treated HIV positive individuals in Europe and North America in order to investigate prognosis.  As well as her work on Epidemiology of HIV and AIDS, Margaret is actively engaged in projects on cardiovascular risk scoring, prognosis of renal patients on dialysis, biomarkers for childhood neuroblastomas and investigating the heterogeneity of chronic fatigue syndrome. Previously she was a Senior Lecturer in the Mathematics Department at UWE, Bristol.

Her research interests include methods for modeling missing data, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis with competing risks, life expectancy and joint modeling of biomarkers and time to event data.
