While at AIMS, Parfum studied mathematical modeling of the evolution of HIV/AIDS infection in the community, with a view to determining eradication thresholds of disease. He proposed models of different stages of viral treatment, based on current knowledge about HIV transmission and treatment, guiding efficient public-health awareness campaigns.
Parfum is currently a PhD student at the University of Kinshasa, DRC.
