While at AIMS, Francisca presented a classic epidemic model of an emerging skin debilitating disease with rising prevalence called the Buruli ulcer, model which involves four different populations: human, water bugs, mosquitoes and M.Ulcerans. She studied the steady states and obtained the condition for their existence using the basic reproduction number.
Francisca is currently a Graduate Student/Research Assistant at the University of Ottawa, Canada.
