Pierre Marie NGOUGOUE NGOUGOUE

Cameroon

Taught Masters, 2018/2019

While at AIMS, Pierre studied the spread of histidine-rich protein – HRP2/3 gene deletions in Plasmodium Falciparum. To understand the evolutionary process underlying the origin and the spread of HRP gene deletions, he introduced a deterministic population-genetic model, tailored to the characteristics of malaria transmission, to study the evolutionary dynamics of HRP2 and 3 deletions.

Pierre is currently a Pre-Doctoral student at Berlin Mathematical School, Germany.
