On December 4, 2023, the Media Club of AIMS Cameroon organized a vibrant and impactful event to Celebrate World AIDS Day. The occasion aimed not only to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS but also to showcase the solidarity of students through various activities, including impactful poetry performances and awareness campaigns.

Indeed, using creative arts through poetry performances by students were the highlight of the event as they were crafted to convey messages of support, awareness, and destigmatization of HIV/AIDS. Moreover, during the event, various awareness campaigns were conducted, disseminating crucial information about HIV/AIDS prevention, transmission, and treatment. The campaigns aimed to dispel myths, reduce stigma, and encourage responsible behavior among the student community. This was done by students putting on white T-shirts with AID symbol on it.

The World AIDS Day event was a resounding success, effectively blending education, awareness, and artistic expression. The poetry performances, in particular, demonstrated the students’ commitment to creating a compassionate and informed community.
