SANDY FRANK KWAMOU NGAHA

Cameroon

Taught Masters, 2019/2020

While at AIMS, Sandy focused on understanding drug resistance in malaria by building a parametric probabilistic model that aims to estimate the frequencies of haplotypes associated with malaria and in parallel with the multiplicity of infection (MOI). For this, he used EM algorithm techniques under the assumption of a negative binomial distribution to characterize the distribution of mosquito bites.

After AIMS, Sandy did another M.Sc. in mathematics and machine learning at the University of Paris – France. Currently, he is doing a specialization in bioinformatics at the Sorbonne University (France) while working for a biotechnology company in Paris.
