Victoria Oluwakemi Okesipe

Nigeria

Taught Masters, 2020/2021

While at AIMS, Victoria conducted a study on the causal relationship between climate change and the insurance industry’s performance. The study found that climate change has a negative impact on the industry, particularly on Property and Casualty insurance, and confirmed cointegration between climatic variables and insurance performance indicators. Her research suggests that insurance companies should react with appropriate risk management measures to address the challenge that climate change poses to their business model.

Having completed AIMS, Victoria embarked on a one-year National Youth Service Corps in her home country where she served at a State University’s Examinations and Records unit. Currently, she works as an Analyst in the Data Science Unit of a Lagos-based startup. In addition, she is taking Virtual Work Experience Programs to gain insights into real work at top companies.
