AIMS Cameroon is proud to announce the election of Sonter Caleb and Tendresse Désiré as Class Representatives for the 2025/2026 cohort. Their election, held on October 20, 2025, marked the culmination of a transparent, inclusive, and inspiring process led by the students themselves.
Leadership Through Service and Vision
At AIMS, we believe that true leadership is rooted in service to others. Sonter and Tendresse exemplified this ethos throughout the election process, presenting clear visions for a collaborative, inclusive, and academically thriving student community. Their commitment resonated with their peers, who entrusted them with the responsibility of representing their voices and interests.
Both students have pledged to uphold the core values of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Network, including:
- Fostering academic excellence and peer collaboration
- Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the student body
- Strengthening a Pan-African identity and shared scientific purpose
As they step into their roles, Sonter and Tendresse will serve as key links between the student body and the AIMS administration, facilitating communication; addressing concerns; and helping build a supportive academic environment for all.
