Our Alumna Who Hopes To Leverage Her Interest in Machine Learning in the Field of
Finance

Salomey is an AIMS-Cameroon Co-op alumna of the 2017-2019 batch, currently wrapping up her thesis on Machine Learning with applications to Finance at the AIMS Ghana AMMI program sponsored by Google and Facebook.

Driven by her passion to lead and share knowledge, she is a mentor for the Project X competition on Climate organized by the University of Toronto AI and an active member of the Masakhane NLP group. She is also the team leader of unsupervised methods for Ghana NLP and a co-organizer for the Women in Machine Learning and Data Science (WiMLDS) Accra chapter.

Salomey is a recipient of the MasterCard Foundation scholarship, Black in AI grant, Alumni of the Virtual Heidelberg Laureate Forum, amongst others. Her long-term goal is to mentor students especially females in STEM and share her knowledge with others through lecturing.
